| We did something good. |

Gratz.
Vegemight raised $500 dollars in a few weeks for charity. By definition, the fact we are playing wow means we are in a very fortunate place. Many are not so lucky. The people whom you have helped will never hear about Warcraft, or Vegemight. But that doesn't matter. We have left a mark on the real world as a guild.
Personally, I can't think of a better goal to strive for.
Thank you

And why the buffalo you ask??
For many poor farming families in Cambodia, owning a buffalo can mean the difference between hardship and survival. With your support, Oxfam Australia is helping Cambodian families start their own buffalo bank. A buffalo bank works on a very simple premise: a poor rice farming family, with no livestock, is given a female buffalo to help them work their fields, cart the harvested rice and use for breeding. In exchange for the buffalo, the family pays 12kg of rice to the community rice bank. Once they have their buffalo, the family learns how to care for it and keep it healthy - making sure that it receives twice-yearly vaccinations, gets the right foods to eat and doesn't work too hard when pregnant. Fingers crossed, the buffalo will produce enough healthy offspring to keep the 'bank' functioning.
In Cambodia, the market price for a female buffalo is too much for many poor rice farmers who struggle to grow enough rice to feed their families. Owning a buffalo can make a huge difference to a family - giving them enough food to eat and also preventing them having to work twice as hard planting rice by hand or give up a large part of their rice harvest to rent an animal. Buffalo bank recipient, Chrim Veng from Sma Koh in Cambodia, says having a buffalo has made a big difference to her family's life. "Before we had the buffalo, we grew rice by hand, not ploughing," Chrim says. "Now, we have food for six or seven months of the year. Before we only had enough food for one or two months of the year." |
| History |
Vegemight Guild was started on Khaz'Gorath about 2 hours after the server started. We grew fairly fast with a lot of undead to start with before some of our chars were old enough to venture to bigger lands to recruit different races.
Shikimaru/Shaitin (forget which one) was the original guild master. After a few weeks they went back to there oringinal server amd Morghul was then our leader for a few months then handed it over to Tinkerbel. Tinkerbel was our leader for a long time and the core of VegeMight grew under his leadership. Tinkerbel then decided to leave WoW and Bandaide was given the Leadership. Bandaide forged the spirit of VegeMight to be a more helpful guild that wanted a better person to be behind the chars over anything else (The reason we have lasted so long I believe). Bandaide pasted the leadership to Agoral when there was a family illness and she could not be on line much and wanted someone that was online a lot more to take the reigns. It was said at the time that it was only a temp arrangement till Band could spend more time online again.
Under Agoral it was decided that we should leave Khaz'Gorath, which was a laggy and buggy server for Dath'Remar with the free transfers offered. Not all Vegemights moved over but most did. Some of us still have some good friends on Khaz. Soon after he gave leadership back to Bandaide.
Some of the original Vegemights are still here, Bandaide (Vege, Ripparita, Veg. Shadowvamp) Sore (Stagnant, Bullivei) Coldthunder (Couldsoul, Duran), Mahona (Paindanar, Crying, Ubaria) and Koth (Backfire) joined a little bit later.
If i missed anything out will add it latter.
Stay Safe
